Premium is a loaded word and I’m sure there are plenty of premium boards on the market. Why choose Appalachian Woodworking boards then? Well to start, we don’t mass produce a bunch of boards. Wood is sourced from Ghent Wood Products in Ghent, NY. We use rough cut of various hardwoods….maple, black walnut, cherry, purpleheart, etc. What you see on the site is what we have. Each board goes through a stringent process of sanding, raising grains, sanding, imperfections filled and then go through more rounds of raising the grains and sanding. We finish off with treating all boards with only the best mineral oil and of course back to the sanding…..did I mention sanding? This is why we call them fine crafted cutting boards.....we take our time to make the best product we can.
Before you receive your board, we give it a good waxing with Walrus Oil Wax, so that your board is ready for use. Of course we don’t stop there, each board comes with a .75 oz can of Walrus Oil Wax, which should get you through a few waxings. If you want more wax, click on link below.

Appalachian Woodworking wasn’t just born out of a passion for woodcraft, it was cultivated out of love of nature. Based in Danbury Connecticut, a hop skip and a jump from the AT, some of my favorite memories come in the form of a brisk wind to my back while hiking along a ridgeline mid-fall. Refund Policy
In order to be eligible for a refund, you have to return the product within 30 calendar days of your purchase. The product must be in the same condition
that you receive it and undamaged in any way.
After we receive your item, our team of professionals will inspect it and process your refund. The money will be refunded to the original payment method
you've used during the purchase. For credit card payments it may take 5 to 10 business days for a refund to show up on your credit card statement.
If the product is damaged in any way, or you have initiated the return after 30 calendar days have passed, you will not be eligible for a refund.
